The
summer brings good swells from a southern direction and
the spot to be is along the "corridor", a 15-20
mile stretch between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo,
on the Sea of Cortez. Winter swells are generally from
the northwest along the Pacific coast. The water temperature
is between 21¡C. (70¡F.) and 29¡C. (85¡F.)
year round and the sun is always hot.
The
late summer to early fall, during the "chubasco"
or storm season offers perhaps the best wave action..
One popular spot, known as "Zippers", is located
between Km. 28-29 on Mexican 1 on Playa Costa Azul. Other
Cabo area surfing spots include:
Punta
Palmilla: between Km. 28-27 near the Hotel Palmilla
Playa Acapulquito: on the Bay of San Jose Del Cabo
Playa Buenos Aires: Km. 22
